Throughout the past 23 years DECO has succeeded by striving for an above average standard of professionalism, reliability, and capability, all of our clients have appreciated the excellence of our Company. We feel the evolution of DECO has given us the ability to offer our clients a comprehensive service by being able to execute both immediate installation and long-term service needs.

DECO was located on the Mille Lacs band of Ojibwe reservation from 1998 to 2004, because DECO began working nationally the need to be near the resources of an urban area grew. So in 2004, DECO moved the Corporate Office to Baxter, Minnesota, approximately 80 miles north of the Minneapolis, Metropolitan area. This facility is the administrative headquarters for projects with federal, state, local and private agencies. The Operations office is now located in Ramsey, a suburb of Minneapolis.

DECO has 17 corporate branch offices throughout the country. DECO maintains primary branch offices in Cincinnati, Ohio; West Branch, Iowa; Alexandria, Virginia; Rockville, Maryland; Norfolk, Virginia; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Jeffersonville, Indiana; Dallas, Texas; and El Paso, Texas.

Robert A. Dorr, the president of DECO, Inc. organized the company in 1986 as a primary installer of security systems and electrical construction services. Prior to this endeavor, Mr. Dorr was an active duty security specialist with the United States Air Force National Guard for six (6) years followed by 12 years of experience in the installation of security and electrical systems.

Consequently, “Dorr Electric Company” was created in 1986 to extend these 19 years of experience to a wide spectrum of tribal, private, state, and federal agencies. In 1998, “Dorr Electric Company” became known as DECO, Inc., and was organized as a corporation under the Minnesota Secretary of State Laws. During this same year, DECO began providing armed security services to our clients.

The name DECO was adopted to enable our corporation to market its capabilities independently from one another. Currently, DECO has three divisions: Professional Services, Protective Security Services, and Contracting Services. The security services divisions are the primary divisions of DECO, accounting for nearly 90% of our annual revenues.

DECO is a graduate of the U.S. Small Business Administration 8(a) Program. DECO was certified with the U.S. Small Business Administration 8(a) Program on March 23, 1999 and had performed very well under the advisement of the Minneapolis District office of the SBA.
